Topic: Two featured listings

I have found a bug.

When a listing is already added and you update it to add more photos the item is listed twice in the featured listing.

Re: Two featured listings

Hopefully you found this: http://www.rwcinc.net/freerealty/bugs.php Or perhaps I should say hopefully you found something new? wink Fortunately, as the number of listings rises the occurance of this bug is less noticeable. If this *isn't* what you found please post more information on how you got this to happen.
Also, if anyone has a work around I would love to see it smile

Re: Two featured listings

I think thats it.

This how it happened. I was editing an existing test listing and wanted to add another picture. After adding the picture there were two listing on the main page.

Also, When going to the admin.php there is no option for the admin to log in. I am able to access the admin features without having to log in.

Re: Two featured listings

FreeRealty uses sessions. Unless you use the logout link (/logout.php) or close your browser your authentication is still valid. The logout link is at the top of the admin pages to the right.

Re: Two featured listings

Sorry I forgot to post that I did log out and tried closing the browser. I also, tried deleting my cookies and still was able to get admin functions without logging in.

I have never had this happen to me.
Which browser are you using?
Is there a setting in the browser that saves the information despite logging out?
I can't think of any more questions... I'm puzzled.

Re: Two featured listings

I am using IE this happens both on my home PC and my work PC. I haven't messed with any IE settings at work. At home I have changed a few things. I could see if happening on one and not the other but on both?

Re: Two featured listings

Is there any way that it could be a bug using same username and password for the database and the admin log on?

Re: Two featured listings

Hmm... The username and password shouldn't be saved except for within sessions. Once the session is over, the username and password fields should go back to empty.  Again, I have not experienced this... but I also use different passwords.... no, not true. I have the password for the db and admin the same on my test box here.... so that shouldn't be the issue. This *is* running on a *nix box right? Otherwise... I'm not sure where the problem is occuring. I don't have that problem using IE here with my devel box. I also don't save usernames/passwords in my browser... but that doesn't really sound like what is causing it.

Re: Two featured listings

I don't save passwords either. My web host is running -

I also did a fresh install with a different DB and it still did the same thing. I also, tried a different user and password for both.

Re: Two featured listings

And this is the only install that is doing this? No other db interactive sites have this problem right? If this is a public facing machine and you would like me to look at the behavior could you email me the url user/pass (change it to something else if you like before sending it to me)? I just don't see this behavior in my setup. Alternatively, if you haven't checked out the changes in the 2.8.6-pre2 beta, check out that thread under In the Works. The changes there have to do with the admin section.

Re: Two featured listings

No it is doing it on both installs. I have Open Auto 1.0 already installed and I am able to log in and out of the admin. I"ll try the beta version first then if that is doing the same thing I'll email you my url. I have 5 databases running. Two forums, and the other 3 are for the Open Auto/Realty.
